What is RSE doing?
RSE Building Services has seen tremendous success over recent years. Uniquely positioned at the forefront of the construction industry, we use our advanced, innovative capabilities and technological workflows to deliver exceptional results for our clients.
Through the use of unprecedented technology, including Point Cloud Scanning and BIM, we consistently embrace change, leading the way for further progression and improvement within an already thriving industry. However, our efforts to enhance the world of construction do not lie solely within the realms of technological advancements; RSE proactively works to support the wellbeing of construction workers both internally and beyond, placing a significant emphasis on the wellbeing of our staff, suppliers and partners.

Looking after our team
We are incredibly passionate about supporting every member of our team, no matter the struggle they’re facing; from physical illnesses to mental health difficulties, we hope to approach every struggle as a collective, committed unit. As such, we have developed an inclusive working environment for our staff; in a recent survey, 75% of our employees felt that RSE was either somewhat supportive, very supportive or extremely supportive. This has increased by 9% since 2018, when the figure stood at 66%. Meanwhile, we continue to champion women in the construction industry, employing 19 women across the business as they subsequently account for 20% of RSE’s workforce.
RSE also offers engaging work experience opportunities for young people within a variety of roles, as we cater for construction workers of the future. RSE hope to inspire a healthier ideal, creating an industry that showcases equality, acceptance and patience.
Looking after the next generation
RSE’s founder, Russel Stilwell, has trained to become a Young Mental Health First Aid Instructor with MHFA England. Running regular training courses with local education providers and our own staff members alike, he is determined to bring informed support into a range of establishments. By extending our efforts beyond the gates of RSE, we plan to drive industry-wide change.
RSE Building Services has similarly developed the ‘Constructionwise Minds’ initiative; an innovative programme created to transform the ways by which young people learn. This focuses on changing perceptions of the industry in order to have a positive impact on skills shortages and the mental wellbeing of future generations. Supported by local councils, schools and reputable training organisations, 68 pupils have already enhanced their skills through the Constructionwise Minds scheme.
Thinking of the future
RSE has proudly supported several additional initiatives; for example, by investing in dedicated ‘Mates in Mind’ champions within the business. These individuals offer support on both a personal and professional level, encouraging openness with sincerity. Russel also collaborates with Choice Training, delivering talks to young construction workers about mental health.
The RSE team welcomes any opportunity to share powerful insight into the importance of mental wellbeing; from our own protocols to the initiatives we’ve designed and external programmes that we support, RSE endeavours to implement change across the UK.
